This workshop is a continuation of the Aspirations for Artists Workshop series. We’ll got over web presence and how to manage your social media while selling your artwork.
August 12, 2015: Photographing Your Work
We will highlight photography for promotion. All artistic mediums are welcome to attend, as is the case with all Aspirations workshops.
September 9, 2015: Gallery Talk
This month we will focus on networking, social etiquette during your exhibit opening or post-performance mingling and general, “rules of engagement,” and hear from local artists. This will be a high-energy session!
October 14, 2015 :: Artist Workshop
Using Social Media to Promote Your Work
We will hear from community members who have used social media effectively to advance their causes- Coco Rubio, owner of Sky City and Soul Bar, Karen Gordon, music promoter, and Tricia Hughes, Volunteer of the Year. This will be highly informative for all genres of art but will be especially interesting to musicians and performers who are interested in connecting with a fanbase and community.

In November, Aspirations begins branching out into topics of interest to both artists and arts lovers. This will be the perfect talk for someone with an interest in the arts but lacking formal exposure. The guest speaker will be Wesley L. Stewart, Humanities Instructor at East Georgia Regional College. Snacks will be provided.

The Greater Augusta Arts Council is pleased to host a PUBLIC GALLERY TALK for the Community Gallery of Augusta’s December Show. The theme of December’s show is ICONIC, and the show’s juror will talk about why each piece was chosen for the show. All artwork will be for sale.
