Augusta, GA: With last week’s announcement of the Annual Arts Award winners, the Greater Augusta Arts Council kicked off sales for tickets to the Annual Meeting and Arts Award Celebration. Tickets to the celebration, which will be hosted June 22, 6pm at the Enterprise Mill Events Center, are now available online at augustaarts.com/annual-arts-awards.
The Arts Awards are selected through nominations from the public, and chosen by a community committee made up of former winners, arts supporters and community leaders. In addition, each year the President of the Board of Directors of the Arts Council selects a deserving individual or organization for the President’s Award.
The 2017 President’s Award
The Greater Augusta Arts Council is proud to recognize the Morris Museum of Art as this year’s selected recipient of the President’s Award. Mary G. Jones, the Arts Council president, chose the museum because of its impact on the Augusta community and in recognition of their 25th year since opening its doors to the public in 1997.
The Morris Museum of Art will not only be recognized with the President’s Award, but will also be the subject of a Mayoral Proclamation by Mayor Hardie Davis. The proclamation will be read and awarded at the Arts Awards Celebration.
Join the Arts Council in congratulating the winners of this year’s Arts Awards on Thursday, June 22nd at 6 pm at the Enterprise Mill Events Center. Tickets are $40 and include dinner. RSVP and buy online at augustaarts.com/annual-arts-awards.
