Free workshops share important business basics
Aspirations for Artists is back with another Summer Series! Learn what it takes to create solid foundation for your arts business. While the series covers the same topics as 2017’s summer series, participants are encourage to attend again as there will be updated information for 2018.
Expert speakers will present on each topic and answer any questions attendees may have. These free sessions are open to artists of all disciplines and experience levels, and will offer valuable advice! See below for the workshop schedule and descriptions of each session.

Vital Connections Gallery Reception Tomorrow – Business of Being an Artist exhibition!
The artists participating in this year’s “Business of Being an Artist” class will present their group exhibition, “Vital Connections,” tomorrow at the Ann and Ellis Johnson Gallery at the Jessye Norman School of the Arts.
The series, presented annually by the Greater Augusta Arts Council and the Gertrude Herbert Institute of Art, forms a cohort of artists that learn the necessary skills to present a professional art exhibit and further their artistic careers.
This year’s student group includes: Laura Bowers, Donald Carter, Ollie Carswell, Nancy Clements, Stephanie Gerace, Holly Curtis, Rhian Swain, and Pam Thompson

Fusion: A Celebration of Modalities – Reception at the City Gallery next Thursday, June 7

A reception for “Fusion: A Celebration of Modalities” currently showing at the City Gallery at the Municipal Building will be held Thursday, June 7 11:30-1pm. The show features work by regional artists and highlights several unique ways of creating art.
Featured Artists include: Colleen Beyer, Ginny Bojanowski, Dawn Cardona, Marian Owens, Bonita Martin, Rabia Rana, and Ryan Rood.
