16 Arts Organizations receive funds via FY19 City Art Grants
Congratulations to the recipients of the FY19 City Art Grants! 16 local arts nonprofits were selected to receive funds allocated by the City of Augusta Richmond County, a process that the Arts Council administers. Through this program, Augusta’s leaders act in the best interest of the community, recognizing the importance of the arts to our quality of life, economic development, tourism, and more in Augusta, Georgia. Legislative Luncheon Renamed, now Arts Day Luncheon! Tickets on sale now, November 8
The annual Legislative Luncheon is now the Arts Day Luncheon! Renamed to align with Leadership Augusta’s Arts Day activities, this year’s events will feature speakers who will share updates about public art in the CSRA.
While much of the work for public art is accomplished behind the scenes, the Arts Day Luncheon speakers will shine a light on projects that are currently underway, and new work that is to come to the Augusta River Region. A full list of speakers is on our website. Tickets are on sale now!
City seeking artists for sculptures, RFQ open
PUBLIC ART NEWS: “The City of Augusta is accepting qualifications with the intent to contract with an artist(s) for a gateway sculpture. The purpose of the request for qualifications is to evaluate a professional artist(s) ability to perform the design, construction and installation of the first Gateway Sculpture.
The selected artist or artist team will work with the Augusta Recreation & Parks Department and the Public Art Advisory Panel to further develop and finalize their proposed concept.
