Augusta Blues Company donates 20 guitars, drum kits, keyboards to 2 local organizations
The Augusta Blues Company, one of Augusta’s newest arts nonprofits, is already accomplishing great things to help children connect to music. The organization, directed by Michael Galluci, recently donated 20 guitars to local organizations in partnership with Kids Rock the Nation – The Columbia County Library/Hardin Auditorium and the Jessye Norman School of the Arts. The Augusta Blues Company donated 10 acoustic guitars to each organization, in addition to drum kits and keyboards donated by the organization earlier. The Augusta Blues Company is a membership organization dedicated to introducing the public to the genre and preserving its traditions through a robust educational program. The Company is hosting two upcoming performances -The Blues Duo Long Tall Deb & Colin John at the Fox’s Lair September 28th, and Tas Cru at the Hardin Auditorium on October 6th. Reception at the City Gallery – Augusta City Employees Art Exhibition, Friday, September 28
Join us Friday, September 28th at 11:30 am to 1:00pm for a reception for the artists whose work is currently on display at the Municipal Building.
The show features artwork by current City of Augusta Employees in a variety of mediums and styles. Refreshments will be provided, the reception is open to the public.
Featured Artists: Aleigha Brigham, Project Manager with the Tax Commissioners Office, Thurnell EL, Records Retention Specialist with Planning and Development, Angela Rice, a Paralegal with the Augusta Fire Department, Lea Rigdon, Administrative Assistant with the Augusta Fire Department, and Sandra Walther, Financial Analyst with the Finance Department.
