Artwork submissions are now open for the Wet Paint Party & Sale, an annual party presented by the Greater Augusta Arts Council. To be hosted Saturday, February 24, 7-10:30pm at the Sacred Heart Cultural Center, the party offers a platform for local artists to sell their recent work in a one-of-a-kind art auction.
The deadline to submit work for Wet Paint Party & Sale is February 2. Artists who are interested in submitting a piece of recent work to the auction can learn more by clicking this link. Early submissions will be included in promotional materials such as commercials and printed invitations (early deadline to be included: January 10).
One of the largest art sales in the Augusta area, the Wet Paint Party & Sale is an auction that offers artists 100 percent of the sales price of their work. In the past 5 years, the Wet Paint Party & Sale has generated over $20,000 that went directly to artists in our local community! Artists set the sales price for their work, which is then the silent auction starting price. Attendees can bid above the sales price in order to purchase the work. When work sells, the artists receives the sales price, and any funds garnered in addition to that price through the auction benefit the programs of the Greater Augusta Arts Council.
The Art Auction is just one part of what makes Wet Paint Party and Sale a one of a kind event in Augusta. Free for members of the Greater Augusta Arts Council, the Wet Paint Party not only features over 60 pieces of local artwork for sale, it also puts a spotlight on Augusta Fashion! Vintage Ooollee, a downtown Augusta favorite, outfits models in her timeless style to match each year’s theme. This year, the party theme will be ICONIC MUSICIANS. Attendees are encouraged, but not required, to join in on the costume fun, as well.
The Wet Paint Party & Sale brings Augusta together to celebrate local artists, fashion, and fun. Join the Arts Council to attend on Saturday, February 24, 7-10 at the Sacred Heart Cultural Center.
