Artists who have an interest in the crossroads of art, history, and social change are encouraged to submit an application for the upcoming “Golden Blocks Project,” a project spearheaded by the Lucy Craft Laney Museum of Black History and the Greater Augusta Arts Council. This project will partner 4 artists with the staff of the Museum to bring the knowledge housed within the walls of the museum building into public spaces in the Laney Walker and Bethlehem areas. The application to participate opens November 1 and will be posted to AugustaArts.com.

This annual event will be rededicated to providing insights into the arts in Augusta from city leaders to the public, as well as participants of Leadership Augusta’s Arts Day. This year’s event, to be held Thursday, November 8 11:30-1pm, will feature speakers who will share updates about public art in the CSRA.
Congratulations to this year’s recipients of the City Arts Grants! 16 local nonprofits received funds allocated by the City of Augusta to support the arts. This program, funded by the City and administered by the Greater Augusta Arts Council, recognizes the importance of the arts to our quality of life, economic development, tourism, and more.
