Beginning in August 2017, the Greater Augusta Arts Council met with residents of the Harrisburg neighborhood to support their efforts in bringing public art to their community. These residents have identified potential projects to the Arts Council that would be welcome in the Harrisburg area, a neighborhood of Augusta that is located between downtown Augusta and Lake Olmstead.
The Porter Fleming Foundation invites artists to apply for grant funding for public art projects in the Augusta River Region. The Foundation has expressed interest in applications that add public art by local artists to the community. The deadline for this year’s grant cycle is February 1, 2018.

Artwork submissions are now open for the Wet Paint Party & Sale, an annual party presented by the Greater Augusta Arts Council. To be hosted Saturday, February 24, 7-10:30pm at the Sacred Heart Cultural Center, the party offers a platform for local artists to sell their recent work in a one-of-a-kind art auction. The deadline to submit work for Wet Paint Party & Sale is February 4.
The 2017 Winter Art Sale is now hanging at the Municipal Building Gallery at 535 Telfair St. 17 local artists contributed to this fantastic show in a large variety of mediums, check out the work in the gallery at this link! The sale will continue until December 22. Collectors who purchase work can take art home with them the same day, making it just the right timing for holiday gift-buying!
