23 Oct Learn about the Economic Impact of the Arts at the 2017 Legislative Luncheon – November 9, 11:30-1pm
The Greater Augusta Arts Council will host the annual Legislative Luncheon November 9, 2017, 11:30-1pm.
Guest speaker Randy Cohen, Vice President of Research and Policy at Americans for the Arts, will present the results of Augusta’s participation in AEP5 – an economic impact survey completed in 2016 that shows the impact of the nonprofit arts community to the local, regional, & national economy. He will highlight the contributions of the arts community in both Richmond and Columbia County counties, which – according to the results – generates nearly 58 million dollars in direct economic activity.
The annual Legislative Luncheon is meant as an event to share the importance of arts in Augusta, as well as a chance for attendees to acknowledge Augusta’s local and state legislators. Discussions are held on economic development through art, upcoming plans for the future, and public art.
