OCTOBER 29th A PRIVATE VIEW PARTY HOSTED BY ARTS COUNCIL

Join the Arts Council, board members and special guests for a festive fundraiser

The Greater Augusta Arts Council is thrilled to announce the newest event in a Private View series. This spooky, fun event will be held on Friday, October 29, 2021 from 7pm to 9pm, at Christy Beckham’s residence in downtown Augusta. The event is a ticketed event open to the public.

Entry is $15 for individuals and $25 for couples. Current Arts Council members receive a $5 discount on these prices. Tickets are available online at https://bit.ly/3jnGSvw.

A Private View is the Arts Council’s newest event series and serves as a chance for new and established members to come together for an upscale gathering of art and drinks. Each Private View event features the artwork from a selection of local artists. Each event also has featured speakers who will host a short discussion and lecture on different aspects of collecting local art.

This evening of spooky cocktails, beautiful artwork and a chance to celebrate will be hosted at 838 Greene Street, the Beckham residence. The Beckhams have graciously offered their home, decked out in an array of autumnal and Halloween decor for the party. Guests will check in under the covered front porch and there will be art placed throughout the home. Weather providing, there will be seating areas in the backyard on the lawn in front of the carriage house.

October’s private view features art from noted local artists Rhian Swain, Baruti Tucker and Staci Swider. There will also be works featured from Lea Rigdon and Leslie Hamrick who have just completed the six-week “Business of Being an Artist” class, taught by Swider at the Gertrude Herbert Institute of Art. This workforce development program is produced in conjunction with the Greater Augusta Arts Council, generously supported by the National Endowment for the Arts and the Georgia Council for the Arts.

This event is made possible through the donations of time, supplies and effort of the Arts Councils Board of Directors and events committee. A special gratitude is owed to Christy Beckham, Lee Little, Mukti Patel and the entirety of the events planning committee.
