ARTISTS INVITED – Harrisburg Public Art Interest Meeting, Dec 5

The Harrisburg community and Greater Augusta Arts Council invite artists to an upcoming neighborhood meeting to talk public art!

Join us Tuesday, December 5, 6-8pm in the Kroc Center for a discussion of public art in Harrisburg and creative place-making. Artists of all disciplines and all residents of the CSRA are welcome to attend. The community in Harrisburg is looking forward to meeting you!

Welcome Steven Uhles, new Head of Marketing at the Miller!

The Miller Theater recently added a new member to their team as their Sales and Marketing Manager – Steven Uhles!

Author of the Augusta Chronicle Column, “Pop Rocks,” Uhles is a fixture of the Augusta arts scene. We are very excited to see his work for the historic theater and soon-to-be home for Symphony Orchestra Augusta. There are 45 days left, according to their “Miller Countdown!”

We wish him luck on this opening season of the Miller Theater and many more!

Arts Advocacy Alert – Senate Tax Reform Bill Restricts Charitable Giving, contact your senator today!

Arts Advocates!
We recently received an alert from Americans for the Arts urging all arts advocates to take action on the “Tax Cuts and Jobs Act,” a federal tax reform bill that could allow Congress to harm the financial health of charities in our state and nation.
Georgia residents are specifically tasked with contacting Senator Johnny Isakson, who is a part of the Senate Finance Committee in charge of tax reform, to express the need to protect the ability for charities and arts nonprofits to receive charitable gifts.

CALL FOR ARTISTS: Winter Art Sale, deadline November 26

The Greater Augusta Arts Council will hold the second annual Winter Art sale, December 1-22, 2017. Local artists are welcome to submit up to 5 works for this fun event.

Artists are asked to submit smaller-scale (no more than 12×12 inches large), affordable works ($150 or less) for affordable gift-giving during the winter holidays.

We’re bringing back the artist info sessions for Arts in the Heart of Augusta, starting Friday, December 1! Sign up for helpful info for artists interested in the application process for Arts in the Heart of Augusta. Pax Bobrow, Fine Arts and Crafts Market director, will share info on assembling your application, the jury selection process, and participating in the festival.
