Augusta Artist Tiphiknee DeHerrera featured in “Art at the Arnold”
Augusta-based artist Tiphiknee DeHerrera was featured in the recent “Art at the Arnold” display at the 2019 Arnold Sports Festival, a four-day health and fitness celebration hosted in Columbus, Ohio for sports enthusiasts, professionals and competitors.
In its tenth year, “Art at the Arnold” highlights work by artists from all over the country that portrays athletes and sports action among 80 different events held throughout the weekend. Artists submit work to the gallery display, and, if chosen, create an additional piece of artwork throughout the weekend that is inspired by the Arnold Sports Festival participants. DeHerrera’s work in this year’s exhibit depicted the inspiration for the event himself – Arnold Schwarzenegger. She was even able to meet him in person, and he purchased her work!
“My time at Art at The Arnold was phenomenal!” DeHerrera said, “Being able to meet Arnold Schwarzenegger, have him sign my paintings, appearing on his Snapchat story, AND selling him a piece was surreal! Although I didn’t place in the competition, I felt like a winner!“
