Calls For Artists: Material II: D’Art Center’s Second National Exhibition of Fiber Artwork

VIA d’Art Center: Material is an exhibition of original fiber artworks from across the country. This exhibition will highlight the quality and variety of fiber art, and is open to functional, non-functional, 2D, 3D, fine art, and fine craft in fiber. Mixed media works are welcome as long as fiber is a major component. This exhibition is open to all artists living in the United States. This exhibition is held at the d’Art Center in Norfolk. The d’Art Center is Norfolk’s thirty-year-old art center and includes working professional artist studios and provides a wide variety of exhibitions and programming open to the public. The d’Art Center is located in the NEON district of Norfolk. Anchored by the Chrysler Museum of Art and Harrison Opera House and extending to The Plot on Granby Street, the NEON District includes many creative small businesses and arts partners

This is a juried exhibition, and it will be co-curated by gallery manager Amanda Bradley, and exhibition juror, Liana Graham.

Thursday, October 15th 2020, 5:30-7:30pm

Call Open:
Wednesday, August 12th 2020 – Sunday, September 13th 2020

Notifications (by email):
By 5pm, Monday September 21st, 2020

Accepted works arrive by:  
October 5th, 2020

Submission fee:
$35.00 for up to 3 works  (one image per submission)

Awards:

1st Place:            $500.00
2nd Place:            $300.00
3rd Place:            $150.00

Eligibility: This exhibition is open to all artists, 18 or older, residing in the United States. All work must be original and created without the aid of an instructor or kit. Work needs to have been produced within the last eight years. All styles and aesthetics are considered. The d’Art Center is a public non-profit art center open to everyone; as such, the content of submissions should be appropriate for all viewers.

Entry Fees and Materials: Artists may submit up to 3 artworks for consideration (one image per submission) and the entry fee is $35.00. Commission for works is 60% (artist)/ 40% (d’Art), not including awards.
