I <3 Augusta Open Call for Augusta Themed Art | Due Feb 9, 2024

Thank you for your interest in showing work in the Augusta & Co. Gallery for the I <3 Augusta group art exhibition.

This gallery is curated by local artist and Gallery Director Heather René Dunaway and The Greater Augusta Arts Council. We love to support artists who are local to Augusta’s River Region by working with Augusta & Co. to provide a space for them to exhibit their works to be seen by visitors and residents alike.

The I <3 Augusta exhibition calls for artwork that expresses love for Augusta’s River Region. It will be on display at Augusta & Co. Gallery from March 28 – June 27, 2024 with a reception date TBD. We are seeking artworks that highlight the beauty of the Augusta area’s landscapes, plant life, architecture, experiences and more! These works will be on display through Masters Week, which sees thousands of visitors to our area. It is our hope to highlight all that Augusta has to offer through this exhibition to give tourists who visit the Augusta & Co Visitor’s Center an idea of what makes our city great. Artists will be allowed to submit up to three works. We are looking for all mediums. 3D artworks must be wall mountable from a Walker Display System. Visit www.augustarts.com/galleries for more information on this hanging system. Works can be no larger than 48″ x 48″.

Deadline to submit: Friday, Feb 9, 2024 at 11:59 p.m.

Please keep in mind, this is a family friendly space. Works may not feature nudity or violence of any kind.

The Augusta & Co. Gallery operates with a 60% Artist / 40% Commission split of all works sold. If featured in the Augusta & Co. online shop, a 70% artist / 30% Commission split for all online sales. Augusta & Co. is contracted as a “non-competitor.” As such, artworks may not be sold across multiple storefronts, i.e. prints or copies sold in other local galleries. This is to ensure that our local businesses’ sales are not impacted.

Unless deemed appropriate by Augusta & Co. and Arts Council Staff, all works remain in the gallery until the exhibition is complete. Any sold works will be distributed to the buyers by Augusta & Co at the close of each showcase.

The Augusta & Co. Gallery operates on a quarterly pay processing system. Artists who have sold work through the Augusta & Co. Gallery should expect checks at the close of each quarter, or after the showcase is complete.

We encourage all artists interested in showing in the Augusta & Co. gallery to visit prior to submitting to get a sense of the space and the type of works that are typically shown.

All artworks must be wired, dry and ready to hang by 10:00 a.m. on March 28th. Selected works may be dropped of at the Arts Council office the week prior to hanging. Additional information will be provided upon acceptance.

All participating artists are required to sign our gallery contract.
