AU Art Show Open Call | Due Feb 9, 2024

Thank you for your interest in showing work in the City Gallery for the
Augusta University Art Show.

This gallery is curated by local artist and Gallery Director Heather René Dunaway and The Greater Augusta Arts Council. We love to support artists who are local to Augusta’s River Region by working with the City of Augusta to provide a space to exhibit their works. The City Gallery is located in the lobby of the Augusta Richmond County Municipal Building at 535 Telfair Street in Downtown Augusta, GA.

The Augusta University Art Show will feature works from faculty, staff, current students (of all academic backgrounds) as well as alumni of Augusta University (Augusta College, Augusta State and Georgia Regents University).

 

On display from March 7 – May 9, 2024 with a lunchtime reception TBD.

 

Requirements:
-Artists must be faculty, staff, current students or alumni of Augusta University formerly Augusta College, the Medical College of Georgia, Augusta State University or Georgia Regents University.

-Works must be original and created by the artist submitting.

-Works may not feature nudity or violence of any kind. Medical illustrations are at an approval basis.

-All mediums are accepted. 3D artworks must be wall mountable from a Walker Display System. Visit www.augustarts.com/galleries for more information on this hanging system.

-All artworks must be wired, dry and ready to hang by 10:00 a.m. on March 7, 2024. For insurance purposes, works not properly wired will not be hung. I.e. no tape, glue or makeshift wiring.

-Works should be no larger than 48″ x 48″.

-Artist are able to submit up to three works.

 

Deadline to submit: Friday, Feb 9, 2024 at 11:59 p.m.

 

The City Gallery operates with a 70% Artist / 30% Commission split of all works sold. Artists should keep this in mind when pricing their work. Works may be listed NFS (not for sale) but a value of the work must be submitted for insurance purposes.

Unless deemed appropriate by Arts Council Staff, all works remain in the gallery until the exhibition is complete. Any sold works will be distributed to the buyers by the Greater Augusta Arts Council at the close of this showcase. Payments are processed monthly.

We encourage all artists interested in showing in the City Gallery to visit prior to submitting to get a sense of the space and the type of works that are typically shown.

Selected works may be dropped of at the Arts Council office the week prior to hanging. Additional information will be provided upon acceptance.

All participating artists are required to sign our gallery contract and submit a W9.
