Westobou’s Artist-in-Residence, Brittany Fields, presents large exhibition of woodcuts in the Newest Show at Westobou Gallery

With a free opening to the public on Friday, February 2nd, artist Brittany A. Fields will exhibit prints she created as part of her 2023 Artist-in-Residence appointment, with her show entitled: every thIng waS something else before. [sic].

Fields, a resident of Augusta, is a graduate of Spelman College and the New York Academy of Art where she focused on printmaking and drawing.

Sharing what the artist-in-residence has been up to is always an exciting part of the process– “The exhibition is really the first time we see all the hard work they put into their residency come together.”  “The scale of the prints that will be on display are really impressive. I think people will also respond to the combination of figuration and abstraction in the show, it’s a nice balance” According to Westobou Executive Director, Matt Porter.

The event will begin at 5.pm. with an artist talk, followed by a reception from 6–8 p.m. Westobou Gallery is located at 1129 Broad St. The artist talk and reception are free to the public. More information about the show which runs through April 7, is available at www.westobou.org
