Good Luck, Cameron

When Cameron was first hired on as our Calendar Coordinator, she was a quiet, polite young lady. While she is still polite, the Arts Council team has had the priveledge to witness her come out of her shell and blossom into a bright and capable college student ready to take on the world.
As an employee with the Arts Council, she got to witness firsthand all that our organization does in the community. The big events like the Arts in the Heart of Augusta Festival, where she helped manage volunteers and model for merchandise, the WetPaint Party which she helped in the facilitation of, and Promenade & Paint where she modeled again for our ads. This on top of her duties as Calendar Coordinator where she researched, gathered, input and approved submissions of arts events happening around Augusta’s River Region while making a Top 6 Picks for our monthly newsletter. All of this in addition to being a full-time student and working another part-time job. Wow!
I think it is safe to say we all knew she has a great sense of fashion, so it comes as no surprise that she has made the switch from business at Augusta University to now pursuing fashion at the University of Georgia this coming semester. Though we have loved having her in our office and hate to see her go, we have to say, we love this path for her and look forward to seeing what she does next.
A Letter from Cameron
After two incredible years of curating artistic events for our community Arts and Culture Calendar, it’s time for me to bid farewell to the Arts Council as I’m transferring to UGA to pursue a bachelor’s degree in fashion merchandising. This role has taught me valuable life skills in organization and task completion while also offering a glimpse into future career possibilities.
Because of this job I have discovered just how much there is to do in Augusta and have loved sharing these experiences with both friends and strangers alike. I can now confidently answer questions of “what’s there to do in Augusta?” and create an instant connection with someone in doing so. This job has ignited a passion in me to explore and engage with my hometown, a habit I plan to carry with me to Athens.
