50 Stories, 50 States is a campaign of Americans for the Arts in celebration of National Arts & Humanities Month 2025. Stories collected will support year-round advocacy and help ensure that the arts and humanities continue to inspire, heal, and unite America.
From murals in rural towns to poems in school notebooks, Americans for the Arts is gathering stories from across the 50 states, territories, and Washington, DC to show how the arts unite us—and why voices must be amplified to protect them.
Each week, the campaign will spotlight a new story: a veteran healing through music, a student finding their voice, a small-town theater reviving Main Street.
The goal is bold: not just 50 stories, but hundreds of voices that prove the arts and humanities are essential to America’s future.
