29 Oct OPEN CALL FOR TEEN CREATIVES: The Teen Tinsel Market!
The Greater Augusta Arts Council, through its Creative Futures Program, is excited to announce the inaugural Teen Tinsel Market (TTM), a holiday pop-up market designed to help young artists turn their creativity into entrepreneurial opportunities. In partnership with Augusta & Co., Augusta’s downtown visitor and experience center, the market will take place on Saturday, December 5, 2026, from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. at 1010 Broad Street in downtown Augusta.

The Teen Tinsel Market is open to members of the Arts Council’s Youth Emerging Artist (YEA) Membership program, ages 13–18, who are currently in high school or graduated within the past six months. The event will provide young creatives with the opportunity to showcase and sell their original work while gaining firsthand experience in what it takes to be a working artist and small-business owner. From paintings, photography, jewelry, and illustrations to handmade crafts, decorated clothing, and other creative products, the market will celebrate the talent and imagination of the Augusta area’s next generation of artists.
Participation is limited to 20 vendor spaces, and applications will be juried by Augusta & Co. Applicants must have an active YEA Membership at the time they apply. Membership costs $10 annually and connects young artists with additional opportunities through the Greater Augusta Arts Council, including the Young Artist Market at Arts in the Heart of Augusta Festival, an annual YEA Member art showcase in the City Gallery, portfolio reviews for rising juniors and seniors, newsletter features, mentorship opportunities, and other pop-up markets.
Applications must be submitted by Friday, November 13, 2026, at 11:59 p.m. Teens interested in participating can learn more about the Youth Emerging Artist Membership and join through the membership application form. Applicants who wish to participate with friends or as a group must each submit an individual application and identify their fellow participants.
The Teen Tinsel Market is part of the Greater Augusta Arts Council’s ongoing commitment to supporting emerging artists and building pathways for young people to engage with the region’s arts community. By providing a welcoming space to sell their work and develop practical business skills, the market encourages teens to explore their creative potential and take their first steps toward becoming professional artists.
