Augusta Actors in Netflix’s “Stranger Things” Season 3!
If you binged Netflix’s “Stranger Things” season 3 over the holiday weekend like 40.7 million other watchers, you saw the talent of 3 local actors! Michael Silvio Fortino, Amy Peplinski, and Matthew Morse made appearances in different episodes. Morse was in scenes at the pool and the mall throughout the series, and Fortino, who grew up in Augusta but moved to Atlanta last year, appeared in episode 5 with 2 scenes as a gas station attendant named Ricky. Peplinski, who is currently based in Augusta, appeared in episode 8 as a scientist. All are heavily involved in local theater such as the Augusta Players, Storyland Theater and Le Chat Noir.
Fortino described the experience: “Working on Stranger Things was a dream come true. The cast and crew made me feel very welcome and we had so much fun. It was an honor to be in the same room with some of the best talent in the world. I’ll never forget it.“

6×6 & a Mix – Save the Date for July 30
Intriguing topics from local speakers and an informal mixer – must be 6×6!
The Arts Council is looking forward to the first of a new event series, called 6×6 + A Mix, where 6 interesting community members give quick, 6 minute presentations about their passions, and the arts community gets a chance to socialize.
The first of the series will be held at SharedSpace, 901 Greene Street, July 30, 5:30-7:30pm. Entry is $6 for current members of the Arts Council, $9 for non-members, paid at the door (cash, check or card)

Is there really a Ghost at the Gertrude Herbert Institute of Art?
The Gertrude Herbert Institute of Art may be home to more than an art gallery and classes… it turns out there may be ghosts! Recently, the GHIA board president Gould Hagler II invited the Middle Georgia Paranormal Investigations’ crew to study the main building of the GHIA, known as “Wares’ Folly,” which has numerous eyewitness stories that tell of hauntings throughout the years.
