Elizabeth Moretz Britt and Staci Swider Art Exhibition Opening – March 4 | 10 AM – 4 PM
Exhibition Dates: Thursday, March 4, 2021 to Saturday, April 24, 2021
Artist Reception: Thursday, April 22 in the Great Hall from 4 – 6 pm.
Gallery: Sacred Heart
Staci Swider’s visual history includes stints as both a corporate and freelance textile designer, professional painter, and author. Currently she paints with acrylics, layering those with oil pastels and grease pencil, incorporating a little collage on occasion, and building things just to shake it up a little.
Elizabeth Moretz-Britt was born in Utah, raised in Augusta and now resides in North Augusta. Her work is influenced by the Impressionists and Fauvist painters of the 20th century, along with her personal environment and the people who surround her.

Adult Spring Table Runner – March 5 | 5 AM – 7 AM

Bring your own fabrics to create your easy custom table runner! Beginners are welcome! You may borrow a machine.
For now we are still wearing masks, taking temperatures, not sharing equipment and sit further apart.

AU Writing Project Author Series: Victoria Jamieson – March 8 | 6 – 7 PM
The AU Writing Project will welcome nine nationally known, award-winning authors to its Spring 2021 series of virtual author talks! Free and open to both the AU community and members of the National Writing Project.
Author Victoria Jamieson will join the AU College of Education on March 8 at 6 p.m. Jamieson is an author and illustrator best known for her graphic novel, Roller Girl. Her newest work, When Stars are Scattered, was shortlisted for the 2020 National Book Award for Young People’s Literature.

The Fabulously Funny Comedy Festival was originally scheduled for April 24th but it is BACK and READY TO GO on March 14th, 2021! Making Inks from Garden-Grown or Foraged Plants with Wendy Feldberg – March 10 | 2 – 4 PM | Online | FREE
This workshop explores making your own non-toxic and natural art materials using local/regional plants for work in the visual arts, textile arts, calligraphy and the book arts.
Wendy Feldberg is a local mixed media artist now interested in natural materials for art. She works mainly with papers and textiles, painting and printing with plant dyes in various applications, including embroidered surfaces and artists’ books. She grows and forages the plants she uses for art. Her work has been shown in many local galleries including the Ottawa Art Gallery as well as in Toronto and the UK. Some of her pieces are in the Permanent Collection of the City of Ottawa.

Start your week out creatively with AHP Artist-in-Residence Jennifer Wilkin Penick. Each Monday at 2PM via Zoom she will guide you through a FREE one-hour art project, art technique, or creative prompt.
Mondays: March 15th – May 3rd (8 weeks)
No experience is required and you will need only very basic supplies: scissors, glue, paper, and some sort of color media (paint, paint pens, markers, colored pencils, etc.). Each week you will make art that encourages you to relax and to recharge creatively.
