Mark Your Calendars for the 40th Anniversary of Arts in the Heart of Augusta Festival
For forty years Arts in the Heart of Augusta Festival has been bringing Augustans together to celebrate our wealth of arts, our amazing cultural diversity, and of course food. The third weekend in September is always a food lovers paradise, and one of the few places in the South where you can literally eat your way around the world. The 2 ½ day festival spans 4 city blocks and is scheduled for September 18-20, 2020. The Festival includes a unique Global Food Village with authentic cuisine from 20 countries, 100 juried Fine Artists booths, 5 stages of non-stop performances, and a large inter-active Family Area with street performers and activities for children. Artzilla will be returning with live painting outside the Book Tavern all weekend.
This year Arts Council is excited to have a new group working on the popular Family Area. The Festival has been extended to include the 600 Block of Broad Street, so it was a perfect fit for 4P Studios to take on the management of the Family Area. In addition to expanding the festival space to allow for more room for attendees, the Festival has brought in safety experts to assist in creating a festival experience that is safe as well as fun. To view the new COVID-19 Safety Plan for the festival go to https://augustaarts.com/covid-19-safety-enhancements-2020/. The list will be updated as additional measures are approved and added.
Ongoing Festival details and updates are available at www.ArtsintheHeart.com. Volunteer applications will be available soon.
Arts in the Heart of Augusta Festival was recently named the Top Festival of the Year by the Southeast Tourism Society.
