Updates to our Public Art Digital Tours

Our Summer interns Komal Bhullar and Jaden Durand have been very busy this summer. Taking up the mantel of updating our public art digital tours on Open Tours and Otocast, has been no easy task. They have been out to photograph artwork, catalog information, locate art, speak with artists, and more this summer. With such a large, rapidly growing amount of public art sculptures, murals and more the work is almost never ending, unlike their internship. With just a few more weeks to wrap up their PIN projects with our organization, they are both battening down the hatches, so to speak.

Because of their hard work, the Otocast and Opentour websites will now feature current images and information of the murals and sculptures around Augusta’s River Region! We are so thankful to these two for all their hard work this summer.

“We’ve been working on keeping the site up to date and processing all the new tours, processing the artists descriptions of their artworks, making sure all the information is correct across all platforms, and working with the team to make sure all is in order. These are just some of the responsibilities that we’ve had this summer — helping out with the local art events and seeing the behind-the-scenes process behind Arts in the Heart is a great way to see all the things Augusta has to offer. Learning about the history of the art space in Augusta through business as a non-profit organization is definitely a great way to engage with the community.”

We are happy to know they are learning more about arts here in Augusta. Once their work is complete and Arts in the Heart is out of the way, we will invite the public to tour public art us in the fall!
