Youth Emerging Artist Member Showcase “8×10”
Hosted by the Greater Augusta Arts Council, the Youth Emerging Artist Member showcase “8×10” is an inaugural event that showcases works by Youth Emerging Artist Members of the Greater Augusta Arts Council . All of whom are located right here in Augusta’s River Region!
All works must be made by current YEA Members ages 10-18 years of age.
All submitted works must be 2D works created to the sizing of 8 in x 10 in (before framing). All works must be mounted/framed/wired and ready to hang from a walker display rod-rail system. No loose paper or canvas will be permitted. Visit www.augustaarts.com/galleries to learn more about this system.
All artworks must be family friendly. No gore, violence, nudity, or any other like imagery may be displayed in the City Gallery.

This 2026 showcase will be juried by the Greater Augusta Arts Council Staff, with awards in the below categories.
1. Best in Show
2. Best in Painting (ages 10-13 and ages 14-18)
3. Best in Drawing (ages 10-13 and ages 14-18)
4. Best in Photography (ages 10-13 and ages 14-18)
5. Best Digital Art (ages 10-13 and ages 14-18)
6. Best Mixed Media (ages 10-13 and ages 14-18)
All current YEA members are encouraged to participate. With limited space, we only have so much room to show off artist’s works. So, please make sure to submit only your BEST work.
YEA members of the Greater Augusta Arts Council who are up to date on their annual dues are able to submit artworks into this showcase. If you are not a current YEA Creative Futures member, you will need to pay a minimum membership fee of $10.00 to submit work. This fee will earn YEA members booth space in the Young Artist Market at Arts in the Heart of Augusta Festival, lending library access (with a parent or guardian’s permission), mentorship opportunities, and more. Artworks will not be listed for sale for this exhibition.
Show dates: Friday, March 5 – Wednesday, April 22, 2026
Reception: Friday, April 17, 2026 5-7 p.m.

Below are required to participate in “8×10”:
1. Due to limited space, only one artwork may be submitted per artist.
2. Artwork must be sized at 8″ x 10″ (before framing)
3. Selected artists. or their parents/guardians must bring their finished work to drop off on Thursday, March 5th at 10:00 a.m. at the latest or plan to schedule an early drop off time between Monday, March 2 – 4, 2026 at the Greater Augusta Arts Council offices at 1301 Greene St. Augusta, GA 30901. Email heather@augustaarts.com or call 706-826-4702 to schedule a drop off time.
4. Artworks will remain on view in the gallery until the close of the exhibition.
5. Artists must pick up their work on Thursday, April 23, 2026 ay 10:00 a.m.
6. All 2D mediums are accepted, including drawing, painting, photography, digital, and mixed media.
8. Participating artists under the age of 18 must provide a permission slip signed by a parent or guardian to participate. Those 18 years of age must sign a gallery contract.
9. Artworks must be mounted/framed/wired, dry and ready to hang from our Walker Display System. This is a rod-rail system that utilizes 4″ vertically adjustable cleats. You can find more information on this system on our website at www.augustaarts.com/galleries.
11. All artwork should be labeled on the back with the title of the work and artists name.
12. Artists are encouraged to share about the event and tag the arts council on social media (@augustaarts) or use #augustaarts
