17 Apr ArtFields Field Trip 2025
We realize this might be a bit last minute but…
We want you along for the ride! Do you want to join in on the fun?Several local artists are featured in this year’s ArtFields competition in Lake City, SC. Some of our members and staff had expressed interest in visiting this arts festival to check out the work in person, and heck – if we’re all going anyway, why not band up and form a caravan of creatives? After all, road trips are always funner with friends! This is a free to join event. We just want everyone to have a good time. The Arts Council’s Heather Dunaway will lead the squad with an itinerary of fun, but you don’t have to stick to it. As a bonus, if you have 2 or more passengers in your vehicle, as part of the caravan, the Arts Council will cover your gas! Want to join but don’t want to drive? We will do our best to match you with a volunteer driver! So, join us on Saturday, April 26th at 9:00 a.m. for a day trip to Lake City, SC to art it up at ArtFields! Sign up deadline is Thursday, April 24th by 3:00 p.m. You can read more about it in the sign up form below! |

What is ArtFields? ArtFields started in 2013 with a simple goal: honor the artists of the Southeast with a week’s worth of celebration and competition in the heart of a traditional Southern small town. The competition and exhibition offers over $145,000 in cash prizes. The winners of two People’s Choice Awards are determined by the votes of people visiting ArtFields; a panel of art professionals selects all the other awards, including the $50,000 Grand Prize and $25,000 Second Place award. Up to 400 works of art will be on display in locally-owned venues, from renovated 1920s warehouses and professional art spaces such as Jones-Carter Gallery and TRAX Visual Art Center to the library, the history museum, the Ronald E. McNair Life History Center, restaurants, boutiques and other shops. During ArtFields, what was once one of South Carolina’s most prosperous agricultural communities becomes a living art gallery as we recognize, celebrate and share the artistic talent of the Southeast. What do I bring along for the ride? Bring some shades, water bottle, hat and comfortable walking shoes. The entire city is filled with art to see so there is a lot of walking. Shuttle busses are available through ArtFields to get you to the bigger galleries across town. Bring a bag incase you want souvenir shop, and some money for meals! Questions?
