17 Jun Camp Wonderland In Search of Teen Buddies
Hi. My name is Allison Johnson and I’m the Camp Director for Camp Wonderland. Camp Wonderland is all about providing a safe, nurturing environment for kids with Autism Spectrum Disorder to explore the wonderful world of performing arts. We believe that every child, regardless of their abilities, deserves the chance to discover their talents and shine bright like the stars they are.
The daily schedule at Camp Wonderland is packed with exciting activities. From art and movement to music and drama, our campers get to experience a wide range of artistic expressions. And the best part? Each child is paired with a dedicated buddy who guides them through every class, ensuring they feel supported, encouraged, and, most importantly, have a blast!
Now, let’s talk about the real heroes of Camp Wonderland – our buddies. These amazing young people (ages 12-21) volunteer their time and energy to make a difference in the lives of our campers. They don’t need any special qualifications, just a positive attitude and a willingness to have a great time. Of course, having some experience with kids, especially those with special needs, is a bonus, but the most important thing is their passion for making a difference.
So, if you know any young people who are looking for an incredible community service opportunity, we’d love to have them join us as buddies for Camp Wonderland. It’s a chance to forge life-changing bonds, spread joy, and be part of something truly beautiful.
If you know anyone who fits the bill, please send them our way. Together, we can create an unforgettable experience for our campers and give them the opportunity to shine bright on the stage of life.
Thanks for considering being part of our Camp Wonderland family!
