REPORTS TO: Development Director
JOB SUMMARY: The Development Coordinator will work to provide support to the Augusta Symphony’s Annual Fund and other fundraising campaigns, focusing primarily on the areas of donor pledge tracking and reporting. This individual
will also provide administrative support as needed. The ideal candidate is a responsible, detail oriented, and analytical self-starter with Microsoft Office and copywriting experience who can carry projects forward through completion and enjoys cultivating relationships.
JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Augusta Symphony Development
• In conjunction with Development Director and Marketing Manager, ensure that media exposure and recognition promised to all sponsors, media, and funders is accurately recorded and seen through thoroughly
• Track concert sponsors and benefits and ensure sponsor and donor benefits are updated and distributed
• Work with Development Director to implement direct mail campaigns (i.e. updating letters for annual fund, corporate challenge, sponsor benefits, compiling mailing lists and mail merges)
• Input gifts and check deposits into donor software and generate manual and handwritten acknowledgment letters
• Update development trackingspreadsheet to provide real-time snapshots of fundraising position
• Organize and maintain development files
• Reconcile donations between QuickBooks and donor software (Donor Perfect) each month. Ensure fundraising expenses are properly coded for accounting purposes.
• Manage concert preparations that involve development partners, including guest artist gifts, sponsor gifts, and donor recognition throughout the evening
• Attend Augusta Symphony concerts, board meetings, and community events to assist Executive and Development Director in creating and stewarding relationships with patrons and donors
• Compile grant materials and draft and review grant reports as assigned by Development Director
• Work with Marketing Manager to update and maintain relevant pages on the Symphony website
• Help to establish and develop online givingcampaignsvia eblastsand social media
• Track and maintain Founders Room membershipsfor individualand corporate donors
• Assist Development Director in the planning and execution process of the Symphony development events, including Meet the Maestro, Encore Receptions, and annual Gala
Administrative
• Answer phones and support the Symphony’s mission through communications
• Assist the Executive Director with Board and Committee mailingsand notifications
• Take minutesat Board meetingsand produce meeting minutesfor review by Executive Director
• Drop off and pickup mailand code, inputand distribute accordingly
• Manage Yearbook and relevant member lists
• Perform other duties as assigned
This is a full-time position. Some evening and weekend hours are required as the Development Coordinator attends board meetings and concerts.
