DEVELOPMENT COORDINATOR

REPORTS TO: Development Director

JOB SUMMARY: The Development Coordinator will work to provide support to the Augusta Symphony’s Annual Fund and other fundraising campaigns, focusing primarily on the areas of donor pledge tracking and reporting. This individual will provide administrative support to the Executive Director and Development Director as needed. The ideal candidate is an energetic, detail-oriented self-starter who enjoys cultivating relationships and conversing with others.

JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Augusta Symphony Development

· In conjunction with Development Director and Marketing Manager, ensure that media exposure and recognition promised to all sponsors, media and funders takes place

· Track concert sponsors and benefits and ensure sponsor and donor benefits are distributed

· Work with Development Director to implement direct mail campaigns (i.e. updating letters for annual fund, corporate challenge, sponsor benefits, and compiling mailing lists)

· Input gifts and check deposits into donor software and generate acknowledgment letters

· Update development tracking spreadsheet to provide real-time snapshots of fundraising position

· Organize and maintain development files

· On a monthly basis, balance income with QuickBooks and donor software. Review fundraising expenses to ensure they have been coded correctly

· Schedule concert reception caterers and order and deliver guest artist gift baskets

· Attend Augusta Symphony Concerts and board meetings to assist Executive and Development Director in creating relationships with patrons and donors

· Draft and review grant reports as assigned by Development Director

· Work with Marketing Manager to update and maintain development pages/presence on the Symphony website

· Help to establish and develop online giving campaigns via eblasts and social media

· Track and maintain Founders Room memberships for individual and corporate donors

· Assist Development Director in the planning and execution process of the Augusta Symphony Gala

Administrative

· Answer phones and provide customer service

· Assist the Executive Director with Board and Committee mailings and notifications

· Take minutes at Board meetings and produce meeting minutes for review by Executive Director

· Drop off and pickup mail and code, input and distribute accordingly

· Perform other duties as assigned by Executive Director and Development Director

This is a part time position, the hours being Monday through Thursday, 9 am – 4 pm. Some evening and weekend hours are required as the Development Coordinator attends board meetings and concerts.

Education:

  • Bachelor’s (Required)

Experience:

  • Administrative: 1 year (Required)
  • Microsoft Office: 3 years (Required)
