The Greater Augusta Arts Council is seeking a motivated, passionate, creative and personable Augusta University student for a paid internship in the Fall of 2025. This internship is eligible to receive course credit hours.
About the Arts Council: As a non-profit organization, the Arts Council has seen 50+ years of arts support throughout Augusta’s River Region. Our mission is to enrich the quality of life for citizens and visitors in Augusta River Region by advancing vibrant cultural arts. This is achieved through events such as the Arts in the Heart of Augusta Festival, the Annual Augusta Arts Awards and the annual WetPaint Party & Art Sale, our two gallery spaces (Augusta & Co. Gallery and the City Gallery), Creative Conversations, Private Views, public art projects such as the Augusta Sculpture Trail and the 5th Street Mural Project, arts professional workshops and more. Our internships allow students to learn about work in the non-profit sector, network with other businesses and groups, and create waves in our arts community.
About the Internship
Duties: Our Fall 2025 Intern will help coordinate the award winning Arts in the Heart of Augusta Festival, organize our Lending Library and digital Archives, hang gallery shows, host receptions, events, public art tours & ribbon cutting ceremonies, all while connecting with arts lovers!
Tasks: Tasks will include assisting Executive Director, Festival Manager and staff pre-festival with organizing/delivering sponsorship, artist and performer packets, as well as cataloging and organizing festival merchandise, volunteer recruitment and management, scanning photos, documents, articles and memorabilia, implementing updates to the Lending Library catalog by testing equipment and noting any damages in a spreadsheet, as well as content creation in the form of blog posts for our website/social media/newsletter!
Requirements: Depending on the internship program, interns will be required to meet at least 10 hours (or more) a week to attain their course credit. Tasks involve some driving. A valid driver’s license and mode of transportation will be required. Intern must be able to lift at least 50 lbs. Interns must work the Arts in the Heart of Augusta Festival (September 19, 20, 21) with availability between 9:00 a.m. – 9:00 p.m.
Pay: Interns receiving a course credit will be eligible to receive $8.00/hr. Interns not receiving course credit will be eligible for $10-12.00/hr based on experience.
Semester: Fall 2025, August 11 – December 6, 2025
