Arts in the Heart of Augusta Festival Call for Street Performers
Augusta, GA – The Arts in the Heart of Augusta Festival Committee is accepting applications for busking style Street Performer to activate the Family Area on the 600 block of the festival. Applications are due on July 7, 2023 by 11:59 p.m. Applicants will be informed of their selection by no later than July 21, 2023. The Annual Arts in the Heart of Augusta Festival is an award winning, comprehensive arts and culture festival that celebrates Augusta’s diversity. In 2022, it saw more than 100,000 patrons over the 2.5 day festival. In addition to street performances, the festival boasts five stages with live performances, a Fine Arts and Crafts Market of roughly 150 artists, a Global Village filled with authentic international foods from local cultural groups, a Family Area with cultural crafts booths and a Young Artist Market.
The 41st Arts in the Heart of Augusta Festival will be held on Broad St. in Downtown Augusta, GA from Friday, September 15 from 5:00 p.m. – 9:00 p.m., Saturday, September 16 from 11:00 a.m. – 9:00 p.m. and Sunday, September 17 from 11:00 a.m. – 6:00 p.m.
The Family Area, on average, sees more than 3,000 families with children of all ages and backgrounds. The Family Area Committee is in search of busking style performers to get the children who attend the festival excited about the arts. In the past, the Family Area has seen break-dancers, marching bands, cosplay and costumes, LARPing groups, circus performers, balloon animals, magicians, and more.
