Thank you for your interest in showing your work in “Voices of Augusta” in the Augusta & Co. Gallery curated by local artist Francie Klopotic, facilitated by The Greater Augusta Arts Council! We love to support artists who are local to Augusta’s River Region by working with Augusta & Co. to provide a space for them to exhibit their works to be seen by visitors and residents alike.

Voices of Augusta

in 2023, Voices of Augusta began as solo exhibition of works by local artist Francie Klopotic. The images on display in this showcase at the Augusta & Co. Gallery are painted portraits of local icons while using bright and vivid colors in the style of the artist. The portraits displayed ranged from well-known figures such as Jessye Norman and James Brown to locally-known such as DJ Codec and Coco Rubio. As an artist, Francie Klopotic is inspired by music; painting artists she loves as a way to discover more about them and their work.

For the 2024 showcase, the Arts Council invited Francie back as Guest Curator for Voices of Augusta II. Visual artists of all mediums are invited to submit works that are inspired by local voices to Augusta’s River Region.

Submissions can be proposals for not yet completed works, or completed works! Artists can submit up to two works each.

Artists must live in Augusta’s River Region to participate. This includes Georgia Counties: Richmond, Columbia, Burke, Jenkins, Lincoln, Wilkes, McDuffie, Jefferson, Taliaferro, Warren, Glascock, Hancock and Washington and South Carolina Counties: Aiken, Edgefield, Allendale, Barnwell and McCormick.

To fit as much work as possible, there is a size limit of 24″ x 24″

Please keep in mind, this is a family friendly space. Works may not feature nudity or violence of any kind.

Works must be dry, framed, wired and ready to hang on Thursday, June 27, 2024 at 10:00 a.m. at Augusta & CO, located at 1010 Broad St. Augusta, GA 30901.

Artists are required to sign the Augusta & Co. Gallery Contract and provide a W9.

The Augusta & Co. Gallery operates with a 60% Artist / 40% Commission split of all works sold. If featured in the Augusta & Co. online shop, a 70% artist / 30% Commission split for all online sales.

All works remain in the gallery until the exhibition is complete. Any sold works will be distributed to the buyers by Augusta & Co at the close of each showcase.

The Augusta & Co. Gallery operates on a quarterly pay processing system. Artists who have sold work through the Augusta & Co. Gallery should expect checks via mail to the address provided on their W9 at the close of each quarter.

We encourage all artists interested in showing in the Augusta & Co. gallery to visit prior to submitting to get a sense of the space and the type of works that are typically shown.
