Art Exhibition Returns to Augusta, Uniting Community and Showcasing Local Talent
Augusta, 5/16/2023 – Artist Jason Craig is excited to announce the highly anticipated return of an extraordinary art exhibition originally created to reinvigorate Augusta following the challenging 2020 Covid-19 pandemic. The exhibition, featuring captivating posters inspired by Augusta’s history and culture, will be held at CANDL Fine Arts on Broad Street. CANDL Fine Arts, owned by native Augustan Drake White, has hosted acclaimed exhibitions by artists Ed Rice and Brian Rust, along with the notable group exhibition “Toi en Moi” last fall. After receiving an overwhelming response from talented creatives, Craig carefully selected 30 local and national artists and graphic designers with ties to the Garden City. The exhibition aims to support the artists and the show itself, with proceeds from poster sales benefiting both. Phoenix Printing Group has partnered with the exhibition to handle all printing needs. The judging panel, consisting of Kristi Jilson (Executive Director of Westobou), Scott Thorpe (Augusta University Chair), and Cher Best (I Heart Radio), will award prizes, including “Best in Show” and “Judge’s Choice.” The awards will be presented at a VIP reception on July 14th. Tickets are $10. The exhibition will be free and open to the public on July 15th. Join us as we celebrate art, honor Augusta’s heritage, and support local talent. His contributions to organizations such as the Greater Augusta Arts Council, Westobou, and ArtZilla have left an indelible mark on the cultural landscape. In 2018, Jason was honored as the first recipient of the prestigious Kath Girdler Engler Award for Public Art, showcasing his exceptional talent in transforming public spaces and building community. With a portfolio boasting collaborations with notable entities like the Atlanta Braves, Nike, and HBO, Jason’s innovative branding designs have garnered widespread acclaim. Currently residing in Riverside Village with his wife Veronica, Jason continues to push the boundaries of creativity, serving as a visionary artist and designer in the industry.
