ARTIST BIOS

Melanie Bussey

I’m Melanie Bussey, a floral and landscape artist from Augusta, GA.

My go to paints are acrylics, for their fast-drying capabilities, and

watercolors, for their atmospheric effect. My style isn’t quite as loose

as I’d like it to be, but it’s all a work in progress. Along with flowers and

landscapes I enjoy painting the occasional pet and home portrait.

Expressing my creativity through painting is how I add positivity to the world.

Colors have energy and I tend to veer towards happy, vibrant colors like

pink, green, and teal. My personality tends to be more serious and introverted, so my

happy art helps to counterbalance that. And finally, the best compliment is when someone

says that my artwork brings them joy when they look at it.

Alissa Curtis

Alissa Marie Curtis is a self- taught painter. Art has always been a central part of her life. She was classically trained in ballet and later danced professionally. Storytelling and expressing the human heart through movement and the visual arts is her passion. As a mother of 5 children, Alissa is continuously inspired by her children to create freely and without reserve. She hopes to convey beauty and grace in her work.

Lilyan West

One of my happiest childhood memories is of mixing two colors to discover they make a whole new color! I was hooked then and have been ever since. I grew up in Macon, Georgia, surrounded by azaleas, cherry trees, and dogwoods, and frequented the Atlantic coast with its moss laden live oaks.  I now live in North Georgia and often visit the mountains. These days, I find myself painting all of the above mentioned blessings of the South and am so thankful to live in such a special place.
