ARTIST BIOS

Ronda Bryce

Ronda Bryce has maintained a love of art throughout consecutive careers as a medical technologist, stay-at-home mom, and church administrative assistant. The nudge toward artistic endeavors culminated in the 60’s (her 60’s not the 1960’s.) She is grateful to now be able to pursue art full-time. Ronda is primarily self-taught supplemented by classes and workshops throughout the years. She is a member of the North Augusta Artist Guild. Ronda works in watercolor, pen-and-ink, and graphite. Ronda’s hope is to use the gift of art to thank God for the beauty He has placed in the world because of the great love He has for us.

Vicki Greene

Vicki Greene is a native Augustan who has painted all her life for family and friends. Many of her friends have enjoyed gifts of hand painted items at Christmas and birthdays and she was always the first to volunteer to paint props and other things for her children’s school plays and activities.  With no formal training, she limited her art to “crafty” items that she said “didn’t take a lot of talent”. In 2017, when she retired as Director of Walton Foundation for Independence, the fundraising arm for Walton Rehab Hospital in Augusta, she decided to work seriously on developing her art.  Her comfortable medium had always been acrylics but she enrolled in a class for art majors at Augusta University with Professor Tom Crowther and fell in love with the fluidity of oils. Since then, she has had several successful showings of her paintings at Walton Foundation’s Undercover Artist Show, Sacred Heart Cultural Center and the North Augusta Heritage Center.  Yearly she shows her work at  “The Festive Muses Christmas Show” in November. At Christmas she stays busy painting Christmas and golf related linen pillow covers and is always available to do paintings for family and friend’s beach or mountain houses. “Painting” she says “is like therapy for me.  There is nothing more relaxing than sitting down with a blank canvas with some good beach music playing and seeing what happens”.

Joni Vanover

Joan was raised in Savannah, Georgia. Her mother was an artist in Savannah, and Joni developed the love of art, painting beside her mother. Joni attended Vanderbilt University and received her degree in education from Georgia Southern University. Teaching first grade was her love and priority. She used her art in all aspects of the curriculum. Painting on canvas and creating various subjects became a joyful experience. Joan studied art with Freeman Schoolcraft, Linelle Widener, Barbara Whetstone Fox, Charlene Montgomery, Billie Jean Powell and Kathy Marbury, as well as various professors at the University.

Her paintings are joyful and colorful. Many subjects reflect Augusta, Georgia and low country scenes. Joni uses photos that she takes in her travels. Her imagination of how color interacts in life, play a great part in the interpretation of the painting. Joni enjoys interacting with other artists and critiquing each other.

“An artist never stops learning. Art is everywhere.”
