14 Nov FREE CLAY WORKSHOP FOR TEENS with Andrea Clark
This workshop is for teenagers ages 13-18 residing in Warren and Glascock counties. Please complete the following application for the workshop. All fields are required. Accepted applicants will be notified by January 10, 2023.
The workshop will be held after school each Friday in February 2023 in Warrenton. Students must provide their own transportation to/from the workshop facility and their own apron, water bottle, and snacks. All other materials and tools will be provided.
No prior clay experience is required, but a good attitude, an open mind, and attendance to all four Fridays of the workshop is required. Topics covered include: hand building techniques, surface decoration, and sculpture planning. If the facilities allow, one session will cover a wheel-throwing pottery demonstration.
The workshop will be led by local ceramic sculptor, Andrea Clark. Clark is a professional artist and educator living in Warren County. Clark holds a BFA in Ceramics from the University of Kentucky. Her work was shown most recently at Marcia Wood Gallery in Atlanta. She has completed ceramic residencies in New York City, Colorado, Georgia, and North Carolina and is currently the teaching artist at the Morris Museum of Art in Augusta.
