A local historic landmark will honor a $500 dollar scholarship and celebrate its nearly decade
anniversary of new ownership with a commemoration of female Augustan artisans over a
100-year plus timeline to present. The Olde Town Peach Gala debuts at The Olde Towne Inn &
Fox’s Lair venue hosted by Melinda Swift, Co-Owner, and Operator, on July’s first Friday. The
Gala Producers will invite regional Art Buyers for a buy-in tour and experience themed in the
late Victorian 1870s when the location was built.

Over 13 local female artists have been selected to display and sell for the showcase portion of
the gala. Additionally, Davidson Fine Arts Dept. welcomes three young women who’ve
submitted a singular piece of visual art to bid at the gala. One of the three juried student
submissions will be awarded a scholarship.
Live performances by She N She and Ariana Cherice begin after the Gala reception.
The program will include several activations and a curated libation and dinner menu to
complement the Victorian theme and decor. Contributions and all proceeds will benefit in part
Breast Cancer accommodations (Hotel stay, travel, i.e.) for those receiving medical support in
Augusta’s nationally prominent medical district.

Melinda Swift is one of two owners of the Olde Town Inn venue counting seven years in July.
Mrs. Swift is an active art buyer, nightlife connoisseur, and respected talent buyer in Augusta’s
Music Industry. Melinda will be [6 months] breast cancer free this July and shares a life with her
beloved James Swift. Her creative contributions and community programming have allowed
vibrant developments for a variety of artists for decades. By day a mother, grandmother, and
astonishing hairdresser Melinda is a staple in the region and resilient at that.
