30 Jun Municipal Building Gallery, Summer Exhibition Reception July 18
The Office of the Mayor and the Greater Augusta Arts Council will host a public reception on Tuesday, July 18, 2017, 11:30 am-2:00 pm to celebrate the artists whose work is currently hanging in the Municipal Building Gallery, located in the lobby of the Augusta Richmond County Municipal Building at 535 Telfair.
The July 18 Reception will be held 11:30 am- 2:00pm in the downstairs lobby of the Municipal Building. The public and city employees are all invited. Artists will be present to speak about their work and all artwork will be for sale. Light refreshments will be provided.
The show hosts a selection of art from 20 local and regional artists. Currently featured in the show are works from the following artists:
Abstract Alexandra, Andrea Anderegg, Adam Bridges, Si-Long Chen, Joanne Crouch, Ryan Dunbar, Travis Duncan, Alexandra Giannell , Nico Gozal, Amy Graham, Mary Jackson, Christina Miller, Shirley Ann Olson, Lillian Peel, Tiffany Reese, Gail Russell, Jody Smith, Melanie Stokes, Rhian Swain, and Stephanie Willingham
Christina Berkshire, Administration Manager for the Greater Augusta Arts Council and coordinator for the Municipal Building Gallery, describes the collection of work as an “exploration of scenes and subject matter that are familiar to us, in both abstract and representational styles. For each piece that is representational in nature, there is another, complementary, piece that is stylized or abstract that shares similar themes, colors, or textures.”
The Summer Exhibition will be on display until the end of August. The Municipal Building Gallery is open Monday-Friday, 8:30-5pm.
