2D or Not 2D in the City Gallery

2D or Not 2D is an group exhibition of works by 2D Foundations students from the Augusta University Department of Art and Design. The purpose of this showcase is to highlight the emerging artists we see being educated right here in Augusta, GA while providing these students with a public space to display their work.

Opportunities such as this allow arts students to build their resumes and gain experience that will be useful as they pursue a career in the arts. Supporting emerging artists is an incredibly important way to solidify the continuation of arts development within a community.

Displayed works utilize a variety of mediums including photography, graphic design, digital art, pencil, paints such as gauche and watercolor, oil pastels, charcoal and more. The 2D Foundations course at AU’s purpose is to introduce first year arts students to new mediums and tools as they build their portfolio.

The two participating 2D Foundations classes were led by local artists and Professors Yana Bondar and Randy Pace. Participating students include Mirabel Ting, Sydney Swanson, Dylan Stout,  Valeria Ballestero, Izabella Heck, Solomon Robertson, Caleb Grant, Jada Griffin, Taylor Shockley, Taylor Sommers, Keefernee Manalac, Daniela Burgos, Aaron Britt, Ashley Blackwell, David Branch, Matt Caliri, Tyce Dukes, Jocelyn Holloway, Dan Nguyen, Sam Peacock, Brianna Quick, Jasmine Wiggins, Terry Wilber, Audri Young-Kelly.
