Arts in the Heart of Augusta Festival Road Closings
Arts in the Heart of Augusta Festival is September 15 – 17 in downtown Augusta. The festival hours are Friday 5pm – 9pm, Saturday 11am – 9pm, Sunday 11am – 6pm. With an expected attendance of 50,000 each day, the festival is one of the South’s most popular Arts Festivals. It features a global food village with international food from 19 countries, five stages of performances, 140 fine artists booths and a large, interactive family area.
The festival will encompass the 600, 700, 800, and 900 blocks of Broad Street, The Augusta Commons, 7th & Ellis to Broad Street, 8th & Ellis to Broad Street, 9th & Ellis to Broad Street and Jones & 9th to Broad Street. Additionally, the following streets will be blocked to traffic: Jones & Macarten to Broad Street, and one lane of Reynolds from 9th to 10th for pedestrian safety.
The street closing plan will be implemented for the following dates and locations:
Tuesday (9/12) 11pm:
- Albion & Broad St.
- 8th Street (from Ellis to Broad)
- 9th Street (next to the Board of Education from Ellis to Broad)
- Broad Street will close from 7th Street to 10th Street
Wednesday (9/13) 11pm:
- McCartan from Broad to Jones
- 9th Street from Broad to Jones
- The parking well on the 600 block of Broad Street (across from the Ramada hotel)
Friday (9/15):
- One lane (eastbound) of Reynolds will close from 9th to 8th Street
Road closures will be implemented from 9/13 through 9/17. All closures will remain in place until after the festival ends and the Sheriff’s Department deems the areas to be safe for traffic. The festival will end Sunday night (9/17) at 7pm. Security services will be provided by the Richmond County Sheriff’s Department to provide 24 hour coverage from Wednesday 9/13 thru Sunday evening 9/17. Central EMS will provide onsite EMTs during the festival hours.
Advanced Festival badges are $12 per person and available online and at select locations. A limited number of advanced discount badges are also available in at the following locations in Augusta: Richmond County Tag Offices, Tax Commission Office, Sacred heart Cultural Center Gift Shop and at Augusta and Co. Children 10 and under are admitted to the festival free. Badges are $15 per person starting Sept. 15th both online and at the Festival entrance gates.
