Via GPB Radio- “Augusta, Georgia’s Cherry Tree Crossing public housing project was once a vibrant neighborhood full of laughter, joy and a sense of community. But to outsiders, it was a lawless place, infected with gangs and guns, nestled on the wrong side of the tracks.
With its demolition set in 2014, the Greater Augusta Arts Council and GPB Radio collaborated to record and preserve the stories of those who called Cherry Tree Crossing ‘home.'”
