01 Oct Intern Hannah’s 2025 Arts in the Heart Experience
This month was a whirlwind—in the best way possible! I spent most of my time packing, sorting, counting, and doing a little bit of everything to help prepare for the Arts in the Heart of Augusta Festival. While things got hectic quickly, I had the incredible opportunity to see what goes on behind the scenes and be part of the dedicated efforts that make this beloved community event run so smoothly.
It was inspiring to witness how not just volunteers, but a passionate group of local leaders and organizers came together with the Greater Augusta Arts Council to bring the festival to life. Even when unexpected challenges popped up, the team responded with quick thinking and grace, ensuring everything stayed on track.
During the festival weekend, I was stationed at Volunteer Check-In, welcoming volunteers, getting them set up with their t-shirts, and directing them wherever help was needed. It was truly heartwarming to see how excited and eager everyone was to be involved. Their energy and enthusiasm added so much to the event’s success.
Overall, this experience has been both educational and incredibly rewarding. I’ve gained a deeper appreciation for the planning and teamwork required to pull off such a large-scale event.
