Update: The James Brown Mural Call for Art
The call for mural proposals closed on Monday, January 13. We received 39 applications, which are being reviewed for completeness.
Once ineligible applications have been removed from the pool, scoring will begin.
The response to this call was tremendous, and though we only advertised the opportunity locally, we received applications from all over the country. One requirement was proof of residency, and all applications will have one element of the scoring for the applicant’s proximity to Augusta, based on the residency proof provided.
We hope that the outpouring of creative energy for a James Brown mural will encourage our Commission and private businesses to fund more such projects.
