The Dig the Digital showcase features digitally created artworks by local artists priced to sell with the gift giving season in mind. All works are priced $200.00 and under (before tax) and are available as both solitary prints or framed pieces ready to hang.
What is Digital Art? Digital art refers to any artistic work or practice that uses digital technology as part of the creative or presentation process. Since its origins, many terms have been used to describe digital art, including computer art, electronic art, multimedia art and new media art. Although the first digital art experiences are often dated back to the 1980s, its roots can be traced back to the 1960s with artists exploring the relationship of man and machine in the artistic realm and envisioning a world of unbounded communication and interconnectedness. Now, this widespread form of art has created a way for artists and collectors to connect with ease and create duplicates of their work that are both affordable and unique.
Featured artists for Dig the Digital include local artists who are based in Augusta’s River Region: EMESARTSY, SIFT + STACK (cover artist), Art the Artist Abdon, Ranesha Nibbs, Stoney, Emily Bender, Zachary Alvarez and Theron Cartwright.
The Dig the Digital showcase will be on view in the Augusta & Co. Gallery from September 26, 2024 – January 2, 2025 with a Reception on December 6, 2024 from 4:00 – 6:00 p.m.
