Local Artists are Live Painting at the James Brown Birthday Get Down May 6th from 3-11pm.

Several local artists, including Greater Augusta Arts Council Artist Members and Members of NuBAG, will be live creating at the James Brown Birthday Get Down on May 6, 2023 from 3:00 PM – 11:00 PM.
Artists include Arts Council members: Jacki Mayo Van Dyke, Blaine Prescott, Brian Stewart, Alex Foltz, Lexi Kay White and Heather René Dunaway. dual NuBAG/Arts Council members: Baruti Tucker and Ethan Moore, NuBAG members: Larry Watson, Morgan Hayes and Destiny Love, as well as local artists: Tiphiknee De Herrera, Debra Estep and Katie Scarborough.
The 2023 JAMES BROWN BIRTHDAY GET DOWN will be held in Downtown Augusta, Georgia at the Augusta Museum of History located at 560 Reynolds St Augusta GA 30901 on Saturday May 6th 2023 from 3pm -11pm. You can find the artists organized between the trees of the Augusta Museum of History parking lot and grounds.
The City of Augusta will celebrate, what would have been, the 90th Birthday of The Godfather of Soul JAMES BROWN with a FREE concert featuring legendary JB trombonist FRED WESLEY & THE NEW JB’S, with special guest: JAMP BAND (James Brown Academy of Musik Pupils), and also local funk jam band FUNK YOU plus special guest DJs.
This event will be fun for all ages, featuring:
