Deepti Malik is a contemporary artist whose paintings speak to her passion, dedication, and an unwavering love for the beauty that surrounds us all. With a focus on oil paints and oil pastels, Deepti’s creations blend realism with subtle abstraction. Her work is often centered around animals and birds and are further distinguished by earthy tones that evoke a comforting sense of nature’s tranquility.

Deepti’s artistic journey is rooted in a lifelong attraction to creativity. After a successful career in the corporate and academic worlds, she decided to follow her true calling and immerse herself fully in the arts. Over the past decade, she has established herself in the creative industry, initially focusing on illustrating and designing handmade cards. This foundation paved the way for her to explore more expansive and visually compelling forms of art.

Experimentation is at the heart of Deepti’s creative process. She thrives on learning and pushing the boundaries of her craft. As a result, her portfolio is incredibly diverse. She offers an online class, “Watercolor Cards Made Simple,” on Craftsy.com, and has made a significant impact in the paper crafting industry as an illustrator and product designer. With 41 stamp sets under her brand “Dee’s Artsy Impressions” for STAMPlorations and 13 stamp sets for Crafty Meraki, her works have reached a wide

audience of craft enthusiasts. Her designs have been featured in notable publications such as Paper Crafts & Scrapbooking and the UK-based Craft Stamper magazine. Deepti’s talent has also led her to collaborate as a guest artist with several prestigious art supply and paper crafting companies, including Adornit, Chalkola, Funcils, Spellbinders Paper Arts, Casual Friday’s Stamps, and Top Dog Dies. She was also a featured artist for Chalkola.com.

In the past year alone, Deepti’s work has been showcased in various events and exhibitions organized by the Greater Augusta Arts Council, including the Annual Winter Art Showcase in the City Gallery, the I <3 Augusta exhibit in the Augusta & Co. Gallery, and the Annual WetPaint Party & Art Sale at Sacred Heart Cultural Center. Her art was also displayed at the Wellstar MCG Healing Arts Gallery from March – April 2024 as well as in the APMU Studio in Downtown Augusta, GA in April 2024. Notably, Deepti was part of a specially curated team of artists for the ART Tasting event at The Pinnacle Club in Augusta, and she is thrilled to have been selected for the prestigious “Arts in the Heart of Augusta” festival. Her booth number is 755!

For Deepti, participating in Arts in the Heart holds special significance. Five years ago, when she first moved to Augusta and attended the festival as a spectator, she dreamed of one day being

part of it as a vendor. At that time, she wasn’t even painting professionally. Today, that dream has become a reality. Being a part of this vibrant community of creatives, where artists inspire and support each other, is a source of immense pride and fulfillment for many artists, including Deepti. She herself describes the experience as nothing short of elating; a celebration of creative freedom that makes Arts in the Heart a must-visit event.

Beyond creating her own art, Deepti is passionate about sharing her knowledge with others. She teaches art classes at Artists’ Nook, where she focuses on helping students develop a strong understanding of artistic principles. Through her classes, students learn key concepts such as line, shape, form, composition, perspective, value, and color theory, all aimed at enhancing their skill levels. She feels creativity is something to be shared and passed on to others in the hopes of inspiring the next generation of artists.

As Deepti Malik continues to explore new ways of expressing her vision, she remains committed to her journey as both a creator and a mentor. Her art, grounded in realism yet open to abstraction, invites viewers to see the world through her eyes, to experience the warmth and beauty she captures so vividly.

“Art is my happy place!” – Deepti Malik
