Meet Macyn Victoria Bush

Featured Emerging Artist | July 2026

At just 8 years old, Macyn Victoria Bush is already discovering that creativity can take many forms. Whether she is drawing, making colorful bracelets, cheering, dancing, or dreaming about fashion, she approaches everything with excitement and imagination.

As she gets ready to start third grade, Macyn enjoys finding time to create whenever she can. She loves that she is encouraged to express herself both at home and at school, giving her plenty of opportunities to explore new ideas. While painting was once her favorite artistic outlet, her interests have grown alongside her. Today, she finds herself especially inspired by fashion and enjoys creating unique bracelets using string and an assortment of colorful beads.

Macyn draws inspiration from the people around her and from other artists. A simple trip to the store can spark a new idea when she spots a bracelet she loves. Instead of wishing she had it, she heads home ready to create her own version, adding her own colorful twist and personal style.

Her bracelet making is also helping her in an unexpected way. Macyn has dyscalculia, a learning difference that affects math skills, and counting the exact number of beads for each bracelet gives her a fun and meaningful way to practice her numbers. Through art, she continues to build confidence while doing something she genuinely enjoys.

Looking ahead, Macyn has big dreams. She hopes to attend Davidson Fine Arts School and believes her creativity can open doors to exciting opportunities. One day, she would love to become a fashion designer or stylist, combining her love of art and fashion into a future career. She also dreams of sharing her work in Paris, a place she hopes to visit someday.

Being named the Emerging Youth Featured Artist of the Month is a special honor for Macyn. She says she is excited because she truly loves creating, especially when it comes to fashion. She also hopes her teacher, Ms. Wilkes, would be proud of her accomplishment.

One of Macyn’s proudest memories so far has been participating in her school’s art show, where she had the opportunity to share her creativity with others. When she is not making art, she enjoys cheering, reading, and painting, interests that continue to inspire her imagination.

If given the chance to collaborate with anyone, Macyn would choose jewelry designer David Yurman, partly because her mom loves his bracelets. It is a fitting choice for a young artist who already has such a passion for creating wearable art of her own.

When asked to describe her art, Macyn chose three simple words: colorful, creative, and cute. Those words capture not only her artwork but also the joyful spirit she brings to everything she creates.

For other young artists, Macyn has some encouraging advice: “Always be creative, have fun, and you got this.”

With her imagination, determination, and growing love for fashion and design, there is no doubt that Macyn’s creative journey is only beginning.
