“Artistic Augusta” Featured in Georgia Trend Magazine’s Article, “Augusta/Richmond County: A Bright Future”

Artistic Augusta was highlighted in the most recent issue of Georgia Trend Magazine as part of a feature on Augusta Richmond County! Arts Council Director Brenda Durant and Turn Back the Block director Lauren Dallas were interviewed on the great work being put into public art and urban revitalization in Augusta.

Augusta Canal Accepting Public Art Project Submissions, Deadline Next Monday, August 13

Via AugustaCanal.com – Artists interested in creating works inspired by the history and environment of the Augusta Canal National Heritage Area are encouraged to apply for a public art project commission by August 13. Augusta Canal Authority issued a request for qualifications for the project which offers $14,000 for the selected artist or artists’ team.”
 The deadline for final submissions is by 2pm on August 13. Individuals and artist teams welcome to apply.

Volunteer Opportunities with the Arts Council in August

It’s that time of year! As the Arts Council prepares for the 2018 Arts in the Heart of Augusta Festival, we are in need of volunteers to assist with tasks in the office. These tasks involve assembling performer mailings, badge deliveries, sponsor relations and more. If you are interested in volunteering a few hours of your time this month, please email Administration Manager Christina Berkshire at [email protected].
