The Greater Augusta Arts Council advances vibrant cultural arts in Augusta’s River Region, thus enriching the lives of citizens and visitors, and fostering growth in the arts sector of our economy. As part of this mission, the Arts Council manages the responsible and systematic distribution of City Arts Grant funds to arts nonprofit organizations in Richmond County.
As an extension of this function as a local arts agency, the Greater Augusta Arts Council has been awarded National Endowment for the Arts funds from the American Rescue Plan to allocate through subgranting to arts nonprofits in Richmond and Columbia Counties in Georgia, and Aiken County in South Carolina. There are additional, separate funds to allocate to individual artists who reside in the CSRA for arts projects they are planning to create July 1, 2022 – June 30, 2023.
