Listed as one of the top 10 “Summer’s Sweetest Hits,” the Black Cat Picture Show hosted at Le Chat Noir Theater in downtown Augusta continues to make an impression on the national film festival scene. Economic Impact of the Arts Sneak Peek – AEP5 Trivia on Twitter
If you follow the Greater Augusta Arts Council on Twitter ( @augustaarts), you may have already seen some fun trivia points from the Arts & Economic Prosperity 5 (AEP5). The AEP5 survey results go beyond a single dollar amount contributed by arts nonprofits to the economy. It gives supporters a wide array of information needed to make a strong case for investment in the arts. In the report, you’ll find localized info on the following (& more!):
- Direct economic activity created by arts & culture audience members and arts nonprofits organizations
- Average audience spending per arts event
- The value of the hours donated by dedicated arts volunteers
- Local jobs supported by arts nonprofits in Augusta
- Spending habits broken down by resident & nonresident events attendees
We’ll be sharing even more great info this week in preparation for Randy Cohen’s presentation at the Legislative Luncheon, Thursday November 9, 11:30-1pm. Registration details listed below.
At the end of the luncheon, Randy Cohen will also host a supplemental workshop for arts organizers that will show how they can distill their own organization’s impact from the regional results. 1-2pm, free for attendees (you just have to register for the luncheon, details below)

We’re bringing back the artist info sessions for Arts in the Heart of Augusta, starting Friday, December 1!
