Augusta Art Adventures – “Every Little Bit Counts”

Augusta Art Adventures – “Every Little Bit Counts”

Downtown Augusta- every little bit counts.

So…I have been home.  I call March 12, The Day the Music Died.  It’s the day the Augusta National announced the postponement of THE tournament and we all went home for the duration.  I know it’s okay to go out –a little- with mask, so I finally did!

It was so wonderful when my daughter and grandson asked if they could come for a visit from Charleston.

Everyone played it safe together. We did not hug, we ate at two tables and we took most meals outdoors on our deck.  It was great to connect… in an across the room way.  Understandably my 9 year old grandson eventually got sick of playing with Legos in the garage and wanted to do something special.  So my daughter and grandson headed downtown to Artsy Me at 1016 Broad Street for their 2nd visit to paint a ceramic ‘something’ … this time a Volkswagen Van.  A few years ago he visited Artsy Me on Broad Street and painted a moose.  Mr. Moose lived with us for months. At first I forgot to pick it up from the shop. Then I forgot to bring it to Charleston.  So, when Alex reminded me to grab the Van when it was ready for pickup, Ed and I  went right away.  I donned my very artistic face mask and ventured out to get the green van.  While there, I noted the shop space was quite large; Alex mentioned they had the place to themselves and felt very safe while there.  I did too.

As long as we were on our adventure, we decided to call Hildebrandt’s (226 6th Street) and order two Rubens.  The food was delivered curbside by a waiter in mask and gloves (thank you Hildebrant’s). Then we drove to the downtown Marina and ate our lunch overlooking the Savannah River. It was a great break from our isolated routine.

The Green Van sits on our dining room table. I like having it there to remind me that “This Too Shall Pass”.  We’ll eventually go on a longer adventure to Charleston… in due time.  With the van in hand, of course.

If you’d like to order a To-Go meal, Hub Augusta is a wonderful resource for menus and delivery information.
